Jaguars are a symbol of power and strength, and are highly respected by the Mayan Culture.  These powerful cats, known as Balam pop up in a lot of traditional art by the people of Guatemala.  I would always be drawn to these bright yellow jaguar masks, carved and painted by the locals, and used in traditional dances. While endangered, these majestic creatures are still prowling in the jungle, with the help of a few expansive reserves to keep them happy.

I hope you feel strong and free, like the Balam when you don your jersey garment. x
